Overview of Les Landes

in Landes

Les Landes, begins at the Gironde estuary, this part of the coast line is better known as the Côte d’Argent a vast coastline stretching uninterrupted all the way down to the foot of the Pyrenées Mountains. This natural, open length of coast, lays unspoilt with beautiful sand-dunes, formed by the broad Atlantic surges over the centuries. The Cote d’Argent, around 220km of coastline with 55 supervised beaches, offers some of the continents best surfing territory, along with other water sports. However this coast with its oyster beds and fishing villages, yachting marinas and vineyards offers something to suit everyone. Climb to the top of the sand-dunes and experience the breathtaking views of the Atlantic, or the ever-growing pine forests of Les Landes planted during the 1800’s, spanning over 1100km2. Within these stunning pine forests lay inland freshwater lakes which provide alternative bathing areas. The region of Les Landes is somewhat of an unfound Garden of Eden, only visited by dedicated surfers or regional families. So make use of the unspoilt landscape and try out all the activities that Les Landes has on offer.
